Digital performance is a focus on the actions that someone makes in a digital environment and is based on the idea of machinima, or the use of real-time computer graphics engines to create cinematic productions.
The engine primarily used to create these digital performances is Valve's 2004 "Source" engine. The freedom and accessibility of utilizing the Source engine allow for the instant creation of environments and simple manipulation of ideas.
Digital performance is an incredibly powerful tool as the performer is not restricted by the natural limitations of body, force, or law. Any movement and action is possible, opening up an incredible environment to perform.
